We offer live online and in-studio classes, along with workshops on yoga philosophy, breathwork, postures, and meditation. In addition to group instruction, we offer one to one sessions, as well as mindfulness for corporations and institutions.

All drawn from the best of western and Eastern traditions

Yoga

Khorshīd Sunrise- Empower your day. Synchronize your breath and movement to get into the flow of an energetic sequence of yoga postures with a few rounds of Surya Namaskar, Sun Salutation to embrace your day.Find the Sun within.Runs heated on an upbeat playlist Suitable for beginners and experienced.

Khorshīd Gentle Flow- Restorative. A slower, more mindful flow inspired by hatha yoga with less intense postures and more time for breathwork, meditation and relaxation.

TriYoga® - A form of yoga flow combining smooth rhythmical breathing, spinal waves, and hand gestures with dynamic and sustained asanas to create a greater flow of prana.

Khorshīd Dynamic Flow- Energetic class, focusing on a strong body and mind. Class opens with breathwork and finishes with silent meditation.Inspirational quotes as well as the eight limbs of yoga are used to add focus and intention. Open to all, beginners and experienced. Gently heated and with background music.

Iyengar Yoga - A form of yoga as exercise with a focus on the structural alignment of the physical body through the practice of asana. We are using props as necessary, to allow individuals of all abilities to participate in the practice.No music background.

Khorshīd Nidra Flow- Finish your day with deep stretches and a shortened version of our viniyasa dynamic flow class followed by a cooling full session of yoga nidra which is a meditative relaxation. Experience deep rest as a way to connect to yourself and find inner stillness. No previous experience is necessary. Gently heated. Soft music in the background.All levels and absolute beginners are welcome.

  • We provide brand new Manduka yoga mats, blankets and blocks as well as meditation cushions.

    Yoga blocks must be wiped down and sanitized after use.

    Studio access starts 10 minutes before a class, and ends 10 minutes afterwards. Late entry is not permitted to respect others’ practice.

    For Yoga and Meditation classes

    To ensure everyone can practice, we ask you to cancel or reschedule your booking if you are not able to attend.

    Here are our cancellation policies:

    Cancellation within 12 hours before the class begins can be refunded. 

    Cancellations after 12 hours and up to 3 hours before the class beginscannot be refunded but can be rescheduled for any class with the same teacher within that month. 

    Please Change or Cancel your class reservation from the confirmation or reminder email that was sent to you after your booking.

    If you wish to reschedule after 12 hours and up to 3 hours, please email info@khorshid.yoga

    No-shows means you are not eligible for a refund.

    For workshops

    If you cannot attend a workshop you signed up for, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. You will be credited the full amount of the workshop cost towards a future workshop. Cancellations within a 24 hour period cannot be credited.

    We are not able to refund workshops and no-shows means you are not eligible for a refund.

  • Hand sanitizer available for your use.

    Masks can be worn at your discretion, but are not required.

    Please arrive 5 minutes before class, remove shoes and socks, and proceed to your spot.

  • Equipment Cleaning: Cleaning supplies will be provided to disinfect your mat or any of your own equipment at the end of class.

    To ensure optimal air quality, our studio room has HEPA A/Cs to filter the air and reduce airborne contaminants, including viruses, throughout class. In between classes, we will exhaust the air directly to the outside and exchange it for fresh air.

  • If you aren’t feeling well or, have a cough, fever or symptoms of COVID-19, please don’t attend class.

    If you test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of your last visit, please email the studio, and we’ll immediately notify all potentially exposed people and disinfect the studio according to CDC recommendations.

    If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone who has, we ask that you refrain to come to the studio for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative.

  • Please don’t worry. We will guide you through the class. Personal attention for each student is one of the benefits of a boutique size studio like Khorshīd.

  • We don’t have lockers to store your items. But it’s important to take off shoes as soon as you enter the Studio.

    Please remember to turn your cell phone off or put the ringer on silent.

  • We do not have showers on site, but we do have a bathroom for changing.

When our energy system is in balance it enriches the connection between ourselves and our growing baby, fostering a deep sense of bonding and presence throughout pregnancy and beyond. Appropriate for all trimesters, this workshop organically weaves prenatal asana with mantra, mudra, and breathwork at each of the seven chakra points, cultivating inner harmony to support you throughout your pregnancy. 

You can expect a gentle but thorough physical practice with a generous opportunity for rest in savasana and space to reflect and journal at the end. Students are welcome to take breaks as needed. Nurture both yourself and your baby in this deeply restorative experience.

TriYoga® refers to asana, pranayama and mudras inspired by hatha yoga, connected with each other in a harmonious flow. It is a form of meditation in motion, aiming to bring inner strength and mental focus to the practitioner. The unification of pranayama and mudras with dynamic and sustained asana, create greater flow of prana, helping to achieve a state of overall wellbeing.

TriYoga® sequences have been systematized from Basics to Level 7 into a comprehensive method. Jean Brown is a level 3 certified TriYoga® instructor with many years of experience in teaching in New York City and the suburban area. She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in private practice, who loves acting and directing in her free time.

Ayurveda- an alternative medicine system with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent- is a comprehensive plan of action for both health maintenance and treatment of disease.

Join us for this introduction to Ayurvedic lifestyle where we will explore the basic underlying theories, as well as the many practical applications of Ayurveda for better health and immunity.

Included are discussions of two cornerstones of health: the basics of self care -Dinacaryā- and an introduction to the science of nutrition and cooking.

The goal is to empower you to help yourself maintain health but also to improve your overall vitality.

By the end of this workshop you will know the basics of self care from an Ayurvedic perspective with an emphasis on daily and seasonal routines.

Ashtanga Yoga — Exploring the Primary Series
with John Campbell, PhD

November 23rd 3-hour Workshop | 3 to 6 PM

Ashtanga yoga primary series (the first out of six) is considered the foundation of this transformative practice that offers a holistic approach to wellbeing and physical and mental health. It combined physical postures breath control and meditation to create a powerful system of self improvement and self discovery.

John brings together practices and perspectives from the Buddhist and Hatha Yoga traditions to guide us how to  connect with an authentic, joyful nature grounded in compassion.

Both beginners and seasoned yoga practitioners alike have much to gain from this rare opportunity to learn Ashtanga Yoga from one of its most advanced scholar-practitioners.

The discussion is guided by participants’ responses to what they have read. Book Circle at Khorshīd provides a way to engage in critical thinking and reflection as we read, discuss, and respond to different kinds of books from around the world.
